Key personnel come from a broad background of education and work experience and are equipped with a wide variety of unique skill sets. These personnel have an average of 26 years experience in their fields of expertise. This combination uniquely positions Aster Elements, Inc. to provide clients with a high quality product within project schedule and budget requirements.  

Formal Training

Key employees hold collegiate degrees in numerous fields including Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Graphic Design, Urban Planning and Design, and Construction. Seventy-five percent hold Masters degrees and/or Bachelor degrees in their respective fields.

Most of our key employees have also gained specific certifications, including software applications, information technology, equipment operation, contracting licenses, preconstruction applications, project management techniques and OSHA safety requirements.

Specific Skills and Experience

Our staff owns the skills and experience necessary to design, engineer, fabricate and install a wide variety of architectural metals. We understand building codes, engineering principles, architectural processes and manufacturing and fabrication methods, along with construction techniques. These all come together in the successful implementation of projects for our clients.  

Our project management group coordinates all our efforts toward the successful implementation and completion of client projects. This group consists of seasoned architectural, engineering and construction staff with experience in nearly all 50 states on a variety of project types under numerous and differing building code requirements.

Continuing Education

We continue to invest in the development of our employees with exposure to emerging technology and methodologies in various fields of expertise, including recent developments in new materials, engineering and architecture, building codes and LEED certification. 

Joe Lopez

CEO and founder, Joe Lopez, has been in the construction business for more then 23 years, focusing lately on the design, fabrication and installation of architectural metal products, metal cladding and rainscreens. He realized the need for a competitive, value-added architectural metals firm. Hence, Aster Elements Inc. was created and Joe surrounded himself with a team of seasoned, key individuals. As the company grows, Joe continues to add only the highest caliber industry professionals to his team.

From his early years of new home construction through his first public project in 1989, Joe’s vision has been clear, his work ethic disciplined and his social commitment evident. With a full staff of professionals, architects, project managers, engineers and skilled trades personnel, Joe and his team have managed to grow his business, concentrating on serving the architectural metal industry. 

Joe has served on many local and national Board of Directors, such as The United Way Services, Northern Ohio Minority Business Council (NOMBC), Hispanic Business Association (HBA), The Hispanic Roundtable, Key Bank, University Hospitals, Shoes & Clothes for Kids, Esperanza, Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP), Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE), Jumpstart, TEAM NEO, and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) and was a founder of the Hispanic Contractors of America, Inc. Joe has also been featured at the City Club of Cleveland, in the Plain Dealer, Crain’s Cleveland Business, Kaleidoscope Magazine, the Hispanic Business Magazine and published in Bedtime Stories for Entrepreneurs. 

Joe started Aster Elements, Inc., in 2010 as a specialty architectural metals company offering Design Assist, Engineering Assist, Fabrication and Installation services. Aster Elements is AISC certified and is a Minority Business Enterprise firm with more than 38,000 square feet of fabrication and warehousing space and a fleet of vehicles for daily delivery.
